I think one of the biggest issues you'll have here (after having read your draft chapter one) is differentiating the purpose of your project from books such as SSM in action.. your current proposal sounds almost as if it is attempting to cover the same topics these books do i.e. discussing SSM in theory and in practice. Your approahces (blogs, podcasts etc) are mentionned but seemingly do not link to your topic although you make great pains to identify them. Perhaps you could define your project more tightly to the audience to which it is intended. I understand this is where some of your intro is pointing to but perhaps it could be clearer/more directly stated. That you intend to focus on understanding for NEW, UNINITIATED analysts and maybe bring in your various communication methods as sub-project. i.e. a chapter identifying your findings on using different methods Blogs, Podcasts etc. (although it sounds like your use of these is merely from the project management point of view as opposed to part of your investigation) maybe it would be interesting to include it so you can cover:
-SSM Theory in the texts
-SSM Practice in the texts
-Issues with the texts communicating effectively to uninitiated analysts (although i'm sure peter will point out this is what they are intended for anyway!)
-Other communication mediums that would be more effective blogs, podcasts, multimedia etc.

Let me know what you think. Interesting proposal so far with a very conversational (as opposed to formal) style of writing.

A pretty good start… I agree with Craig with regards to the tone of your project – very conversational; a fitting approach for the mediums you have discussed for your artefact (blogs, wikis, podcasts) but I’m not too sure it suits the actual write up.
After reading the intro I’m not completely drawn in. Not that I don’t think I could be… just that I feel slightly none the wiser when I’m done. I think that one main thing is missing – an explanation of what SSM is. If I come across a term that I am not familiar with, I immediately crave a definition. Being that I am unfamiliar with the term SSM, the longer I read without a definition the more I lose interest.
Another thing I will mention is how your choice of study and choice of artefact seem somewhat removed from one another. An explanation of you choice to produce a blog/wiki/podcast is definitely required with the same clarity as the reasoning behind your choice of study. I think it’s very important that they both tie in to the same underlying goal.
Anyway, good luck. Hope my comments are helpful. I’ve subscribed and will definitely follow your progress.

Peace
